Maximal oxygen uptake and blood lipids.

چکیده
One thousand and sixty males and 119 females age 10-69, were tested on the treadmill as they walked at 3 mph (2 mph in subjects 60 yr and older). Every 3 min, the grade was increased 3%. Oxygen uptake and related measurements were recorded during the 3rd min .at each grade. Subjects, age 10-39, exercised to. exhaustion and maximal oxygen uptake (VOz max) was measured. In subjects age m9, VOz max was estimated from sub-max VO1 and heart rate. Serum cholesterol and serum triglyceride were determined in most of these subjects. After removing the effects of age, wt and sum of four skinfolds, nonfasting values of cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations were unrelated to 90, max.

Background and Aim: Blood donation causes changes in physical and physiological characteristics. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of blood donation on the exercise performance and some of hematologic parameters in physically active and non-active women. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 14 active women with history of physical exercises more than ...
متن کاملEffects of a high-intensity intermittent training program on aerobic capacity and lipid profile in trained subjects
BACKGROUND Data regarding the effect of training on plasma lipids are controversial. Most studies have addressed continuous or long intermittent training programs. The present study evaluated the effect of short-short high-intensity intermittent training (HIIT) on aerobic capacity and plasma lipids in soccer players. METHODS The study included 24 male subjects aged 21-26 years, divided into t...

Blood lipids, red cell volume, heart volume, dynamic spirometry, electrocardiograms made at rest and during exercise, and maximal oxygen uptake were determined in 29 former athletes 45 to 70 years old. The subjects had been very successful competitors in endurance events before the age of 30, but for at least 10 years preceding this study had been sedentary. Maximal oxygen uptake averaged 40 ml...

was determined objectively by demonstrating a plateau of oxygen uptake with increasing workloads. Time to reach a plateau of oxygen uptake was normal (2 to 3 minutes) at all workloads. At any given oxygen uptake, cardiac output and hepatic clearance of indocyanine green (ICG) were abnormally low while total arteriovenous (A-V) oxygen difference, heart rate, blood lactate, and ventilation were a...
